Many are unaware that annual Girl Scout Cookie sales have approach $1Billion, making the Girl Scouts a noteworthy business innovator within their sector. They reinvest their profit to build thriving community-based leadership development programs for over 2 million young women.
On March 3rd, 2020, Millennial Ventures CEO, Dr. Brandi Baldwin will be honored by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania for this year's "Take the Lead" awards gala. Other honorees include Mary Stengel Austen, the President and CEO of Tierney, Sophia Lee, Partner and Chief Diversity Inclusion Officer at Blank Rome, and Eileen McDonnell, Chairman and CEO of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.
As a part of the "Take the Lead" honor, awardees host a young girl scout on a shadow day a few weeks before the gala. Dr. Baldwin will be hosting her young scout on two separate days. On the first day, they'll spend time at the office running meetings and talking entrepreneurship. On the second day, her mentee will be able to see her keynote at an annual Leadership Conference in Delaware.
When asked what she looked forward to most, Dr. Baldwin shared "I look forward to learning from my mentee. Today's youth are excited, ambitious, and filled with knowledge from their world. Even though she'll be shadowing me, I can't wait to take a peak into her world and reconnect with this younger generation."
